The EtrusKo Project
Our products are made exclusively from genuine vegetable-tanned leather. The hides come from animals raised for meat or milk production and are recovered by tanneries which, through the tanning process, transform them into a durable and valuable material. Without this process, the leather would be destined for disposal in landfills.
EtrusKo is a project that prioritizes the environmental sustainability of the environment and resources. In particular:
- We make conscious and optimized use of the materials and natural resources used.
- We use water responsibly.
- We respect animal welfare and minimize environmental impact.
Made in Italy processing
Our philosophy is to use high-quality materials with entirely Italian craftsmanship to obtain 100% Made in Italy products. We use hand-buffered vegetable-tanned leathers, brushed antique brass buckles, zipper pulls and metal accessories with YKK brass zippers to guarantee quality and durability over time, and 100% cotton linings. Assembly and stitching are handcrafted with a single, continuous needle and thread.
History
The EtrusKo brand was born in the ancient medieval city of Viterbo, located in the heart of Etruria, a region inhabited over 4000 years ago by the mysterious Etruscan people. Etruria is a historical-geographical region of central Italy, traditionally located between the Arno and Tiber rivers and the Tyrrhenian Sea: it therefore includes the current northern Lazio, the western part of Umbria, and a large part of Tuscany. The region thus represents the radiating center of Etruscan culture in the rest of the Italian peninsula.
